I just got back from the Texas Library Conference and found a lot of great books that I think you'll enjoy. If you want to find out what others are saying about some of your favorites books and authors, I would encourage you to join Shelfari, a social network for readers. Here's a rundown of some of the newest releases.

Num8ers by Rachel Ward- Do you want to know the date of your death? Do you want to know when loved ones will die? Jem has the gift of knowing, because she can see the date of death above every person's head she meets. As a result, Jem doesn't like to make eye contact with people, nor does she want to form relationships with anyone. That changes when she meets Spider, and Jem decides to break through her fears and bond with someone. On a trip to an amusement park, Jem realizes that every tourist she passes has the exact same date of death over their heads. What disaster is about to happen? Can Jem use her "gift" to save others? Find out by reading Rachel Ward's Num8ers.

My Invisible Boyfriend by Susie Day. Heidi is unpopular, and to remedy that problem, she creates a fake boyfriend, even going so far as to create an online profile for him. Problems ensue, however, when her friends start seeking the boyfriend's advice about their problems, including their problems with Heidi. To make matters worse, someone has contacted Heidi and told her he knows what she's up to. Will Heidi's friends find out about her deception, and will she find love with a real boyfriend? Read My Invisible Boyfriend.

The Blind Side by Michael Lewis. Based on the true story of NFL player Michael Oher, this is a great and uplifting book for the sports fan, or for anyone who likes to root for the underdog. Oher, one of 13 children to a drug-addicted mother, finds an unlikely home and source of support with a prosperous family who provides the stability he needs to develop his extraordinary athletic skills.

These are just a few of the newest books in the HHS library. Come by and check them out today!
